Lessons

Our lessons encompass much more than just the riding portion of horsemanship. We believe that true horse people should be able to prepare their mount for riding including grooming and tacking-up, and should also be able to take care of their mount and the equipment after the ride, therefore our lessons, time wise, might be a bit longer than the standard lesson program.

Lessons are arranged by appointment with the instructors. If you are a new rider, most likely you will have a private lesson. After a few rides, and you become comfortable to maneuver the horse on your own with walking skills, and some trotting, you may select to advance to a group lesson.

Lesson Pricing

Instructors

Not all the instructors are certified. Although we acknowledge their accomplishments, we look more at their ability and experience.. A proven show record and riding expertise far outweighs a piece of paper in our eyes. This is what keeps our prices lower than other barns in the area. We want our kids to have fun and compete at the shows in a professional manner and we try to set that example for all of our students. Bottom line - Have fun, ride and play nice!

Riding instructors are independent contractors and not employed by Windy Ridge Stable.

Lori battisti has been riding for approximately 20 years.

Lori started western riding at a young age. As she became a young adult she was involved in an english hunter/jumper barn and grew to love the sport. She has worked with some amazing trainers through out her career. Her favorite and woman that most inspired her was sabra wolf of “wolfden farms". Lori has worked with horses of all ages, including - problems horses. She also has worked with re-training thoroughbreds off the track.

A hunter/jumper at heart she takes her time to get to know each horse, to find there strengths, and let them tell her what they were meant to do. She has been in many "a" rated competitions, as well as local showing, and showed on the quarter horse circuit for a period of time. Lori worked out of wolfden farms formerly keerymeade stables for quite a while. She has done several clinics and classes in other local barns.

A great believer in 4–h and pony club, she feels younger students should have outlets of support and knowledge while have fun in their horse sport. Her joy comes from teaching the young as well as the older ones. "you are never to old to learn to ride"

The ability to teach a person to ride has been a gift from above. A rider reaching their goals is truly a blessing. Lori has a knack for getting people over their fears and feel secure again.
